Depends heavily on bottle. You can pump and pump and pump and still the cork won't budge on some of the younger (<10 year old) bottles. the regular rabbit type works best for them. I bought this specifically for old bottles and port that are over 40 years old. since the plugs deteriorate and break during normal unscrewing. I found that the pump was not moving the stopper, but I could hear compressed air escaping from under the rim of the stopper. Maybe the CO2 version could work better.

This product is so much better than anything I have used before! I wasn't sure how it worked exactly, but with the clear and concise instructions that came in the box, it was easy to figure out!
