Perfect for residential homes, helps protect appliances and pluming from sediment and scale. Features a flow rate of 8 GPM and filter life of 4 months/16,000 gallons (depending on usage and water conditions). Reduces: sediment, rust, scale, dirt, coarse sand, sand, fine sand, extra fine sand and silt. Excellent removal of iron solids

I have well water that is high in iron. I used a 25 micron filter for many years which got me out of rust problems. After replacing the well pump, I started having problems with rusty water. I've also had intermittent breakouts with pleated filters. 5 micron filters are pretty hard to find in local stores so it's best to order from Revain and the price is good too. Switching to 5 micron filters solved all of my rusty water problems. The wound string design also seems to prevent intermittentโ€ฆ

Great filter. Best in Water Filtration & Softening

This product goes well with my large diameter universal home filter and doesn't reduce pressurized water as much as I know . I haven't tested it with a pressure gauge or anything, but I haven't noticed any difference. But even if it were, it would be worth it because my water tastes so much better now than before. Many filters that come with the kit and that you buy from the store are 50 microns in size. These 5! It gets a lot more solids out of your water. Since I live near a well, that'sโ€ฆ

Beware of the orange slime!

Includes 2 filters. One filter looks like a bunch of kites wrapped around a plastic core and the other looks like paper towels. We used the one with the kite rope first because it claimed to be better than all the others. As soon as I put it in I noticed a very strong chemical odor in the water and it lasted much longer than the 5 minute runtime advertised before testing the water. We let it run for almost 20 minutes until the smell dissipates. The water had an odd taste but I figured it mightโ€ฆ
