OMG! I thought I was crazy to buy a $20 toothbrush but it's worth every penny. I am a black woman with very thick and long (waist length) curly hair 3 c. I usually detangle with a wide tooth comb, which usually takes about 15 minutes because I have a very sensitive head, but let me tell you. This is 100% the best detangling comb. I was very impressed with the small number of strands of hair in the comb. I have decided to use this brush on laundry day. That's good. This works on my 4a/3c, thin strands and thick hair. I like it more than a wet brush just because the ball tips are less likely to break. Although in my opinion a wet brush holds better on the hair. Both help define my curls. I know some people worry about mold because it really is. I'm not sure how to know if mold can be present and when. However, I made sure to clean and dry it after each use before putting it away for storage. I bought this brush to use in the shower or right after. I've tried switching to wide tooth combs and they just pulled out too much hair and it's permanent. This brush detangles knots without a ton of my hair. This works better than anything I've tried on wet hair (including wet brushing). I didn't think it would work well on dry hair but it really detangles and makes my curls easier to comb and straight dry hair. Really great brush.

Honestly this is the best detailing brush I have ever used on my 4c hair. Glides on easily and gets rid of tangles in seconds without breaking my hair. The downside is that after about 2 months of use, the tip of the brush broke off. If the company could strengthen the body and make it more durable like the Denman comb, I think this would be the perfect razor for curly girls.

I love this brush! I have curly frizzy hair that gets tangled while I sleep and I usually use my flat brush to detangle the tangles but I damage it and pull out a lot of hair. This brush is much softer and what I left on the brush is nowhere near the same amount of hair that I would find on my paddle brush, nor do I hear as much hair breakage. It's easy to clean and has enough flexibility to untangle tangles without much pain.
