Will die in a year - Accessories and consumables

I've had it since November 2016. It stopped working in February 2018. Now, I'm no expert on power strip durability, but this thing has powered a lamp, an iPhone, and sometimes a laptop. I'm very glad I didn't add anything important. It's incredibly difficult to connect, you have a lot of resistance from the internal parts. It's possible to plug items into sockets in pairs, but I'm not sure if this is a good design feature as it's not entirely clear if it's safe and it's annoying the first time.

Great fuses!

They work great. We had some issues with one of the first ones we bought because the ports inside were so narrow that tablet chargers wouldn't fit in the slots. I tried to plug my wife's surface charger in and actually destroyed the connector's pins. They sent us a replacement and it was too tight too. I had to use a very thin connector from something else to easily pry them open to fit the Surface charger. So be aware that the first time you use it, you must use something small to spread the…

Good backup!

This extension works great. I love the two USB charging ports! By not having to use the "brick" part of my phone and tablet chargers, it frees up space for my other stuff to use traditional outlets. I also didn't notice the slower charging when using the USB ports, which was mentioned in another test. Regular outlets are side by side rather than vertical, which seems to work better with larger plugs/charging boxes. The flat 45 degree fork is great too, wish all forks were like that! It fits…

Shockingly poor design

I have a CyberPower 4 outlet surge protector that I really like, so I didn't bother ordering this strip in a larger size. Unfortunately, the sockets are all uncomfortably close together (closer than a 4-way socket strip), so I will probably never be able to use all 6 ports at the same time. Considering I bought this largely because of the parallel output design, it's pretty annoying. The contacts in the sockets are incredibly strong, and connecting them took some serious effort. This could…

You freed up so much space!

There are problems with the electricity in my small apartment. To be honest I feel like I'm always looking for outlets and to be honest I'm surprised my electricity bill isn't that much higher. But I digress. I bought these because I needed a few more parts for the house. Specifically, one behind the TV in the bedroom and I wanted to put it next to the bed. Even though I have a USB hub on my bedside table, I still wished I had outlets on the other side of the bed for things like my lamp and…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

HAZARDOUS PRODUCT! I bought two of these for my son's room to reinforce the cables and "protect" his electronics. Two days after I plugged in just two devices (a set of LED lights and a phone charger), my son told me his room smelled like fire and his LED lights weren't working. Upon investigating I found that the surge protector was EXTREMELY hot to the touch and an entire section of the power cord going to its LED lights had melted and burned. Thank goodness we found it before it started a…

Pros
  • Black - 1.2m right angle cable - 45 degree offset plug

  • Not as thick as other picks

Good Quality

My mother will soon be 70. She lives with me, my wife and two children. Before she moved in with us, she was against technology. Mainly because she couldn't get most of it to work. Our kids took it upon themselves to teach her how to use tablets, laptops, multifunctional remotes, smart TVs, Roku and so on. For Christmas we bought her a Kindle Fire and a Smart TV for her bedroom. All was going well until she realized she had run out of outlets. I didn't really know what surge protector she was…
