Yes! speed for my laptop.

With USB-C only, my HP laptop relied on WiFi, which could be very slow compared to my wired desktop PC. This adapter now makes them the same! Also easy!

Added ethernet port to my new laptop

I ordered this to use with my Ryzen laptop. Manufacturers like to remove ports from devices. I connected it and came immediately. I can't test the 2.5G speed, but it worked fine on my gigabit network.

Works great with Windows 10. If you get drivers directly from Realtek

It is not possible to get full performance with the Windows 10 standard driver or the D-Link driver. Had to install Realtek driver for Windows 10. I don't have anything that can deliver 2.5GB, but I'm constantly maxing out my Xfinity Xfi connection. Never better than 950 Mbit/s with Gigabit Ethernet.

Doesn't train 2.5G on macOS Big Sur out of the box or after installing the driver.

This adapter only supports 1 GbE link ex factory. The instructions on the box say to go to the D-Link support site to download the drivers. There are no drivers on the website. If you chat with a support agent, you will be directed to a site in Taiwan that contains Mac drivers for an older version of macOS. If you install these drivers, add security permissions, and reinstall them, you'll be able to connect with 1GbE only again. Attempting to force a port speed in Network Control before or…

Very compact, runs cool and can reach 2.5Gb/s both ways

Most importantly, this adapter is actually 2nd generation for both downloading and downloading via USB port 3.X .5 Gb/s can reach. The description claims it's more compact than some, which is true. I have two others and this one is the most compact and weighs around 20g. Not only is it compact and lightweight, but it works as the coolest adapter I have. Forced OEM driver installation

When I first plugged this adapter in, the activity lights came on and the computer recognized a new USB device called the DUB-E250. However, the device showed up as a USB CD drive and I had no network connection. I tried another USB-C adapter from another manufacturer and it worked like a charm. I contacted D-Link support and downloaded the driver for Windows 10 (v1.0.0.7). I had to install the driver via the downloaded executable. After installation I rebooted and the adapter worked…
