I use this product in a corner cupboard under or next to the kitchen sink as that is where it tends to get moldy. I live in a rented house so there is nothing I can do to rip out and replace the cabinets. DampRid is the perfect solution. Each hanging bag lasts 2-3 months and keeps a fresh smell in the closet. Worth buying.

Wow! They collected a lot of water from the air. I've only had one issue with them over the years and that was when there was a small scratch on the bottom of the bag and I didn't notice. What a mess! The collected water is more like slush when it hits the bottom of the bag. FYI, check your bags often and throw them out before they overflow. Otherwise they work.

My apartment has terrible humidity and these little ones are saving all my belongings! I have one in the closet and one hanging in the bathroom and not only does the air get much drier, I no longer notice mold on fabrics and my clothes no longer smell musty. Bonus for the fresh scent. They work so well that you can see the water absorbing faster than you can imagine, but they also last a long time and hold a lot of moisture. Never leaks, good hanging hook, I will never stop using them.

Those hanging bags were more important than the bucket in our leaky basement. However, we got through them fairly quickly and it looks like the bucket will last a lot longer. I can only put up a few of these during the rainy season. The smell has actually changed from a musty smell to a fresh scent; it didn't just seem hidden or fused. Overall I am a fan of DampRid products as they are extremely effective at removing moisture. After receiving this I was very careful when opening it so as not to damage the product. I placed one in the utility room (works great) and one in the closet. A few days later I picked up my favorite pair of shoes (brown leather wingtips) and found one shoe was soaked with moisture. I love this product! I have complete OCD and in confusion with my kids I left my truck windows open and a HUGE downpour started. Well. I liked the Fresh Scent option (wicked moisture well, had a strong odor but was bearable in the wash area). The hanging versions seem to trap moisture more efficiently than the tub version (which I like too). BUT. Lavender vanilla smells like mothballs to me. So a very slightly musty cupboard now smells very musty (mothballs smell musty, I think).
