Xbox can format. it does this automatically without asking for permission (I know it's weird). You may want to format it to Fat32 on your computer before inserting it into your Xbox. This is the cheapest drive I've found for it. great for things like installing software mods. Edit: I may have said too soon. I'll try to update this when I'm 100% sure it works as I'm not sure at the moment.

This flash drive worked like clockwork right out of the box. Having already fully formatted the Fat32, I was able to download the latest firmware for my new Smart TV and it loaded into the TV immediately after plugging it into the USB port and running the update. I couldn't ask for more. It was as advertised and worked with no problems.

1. Make sure you don't get anything other than 4GB size. If you get more, Xbox won't recognize it.2. You need to use FATXplorer, not that old Xplorer Beta junk everyone tells you. It was the only way I could get the flash drive to work.

So here's the thing, you know, if for some reason you need a piece of old technology to do something no one in their right mind would do in 2020 . Why do I need this item? I needed to modify an original Xbox released in 2001. Funny how the tech is old, it just likes other things of the same age. cheap. So I got this thing hoping it would work and it did the job perfectly. I managed to make Xbox believe it was 2001. So thanks to Gigastone for making a 2020 product that meets 2001 standards.
