I bought this to clean up the clutter in the sink while keeping the items I use most accessible. This did exactly what I needed - holding cotton linings. The open side makes it easy to grab one or two for use. When I travel, I throw the entire container in my suitcase and then place it on the sink at the destination. It only holds about 3/4 of a standard bag size of cotton swab. I tried putting the whole bag in but it just doesn't fit. That's really my only complaint.
