Poorly constructed USB cable. After only a few months of ownership and about 1 hour of use per week, the cable shorted out rendering it inoperable. I always kept the device with the cable directly in the special pocket of the backpack. Cord sprayers remained in direct use. Just bad design. Also, I could never see the SD card. Wouldn't buy again.

This item works great except when it doesn't. If you unplug your device and then try to plug it back in, it won't always be recognized. You can tell by the supplied light not turning on. Delete and try again. Still does not work. Switch to a different port. That does not work. Wait a few minutes and then 50/50 if the device works again. Obviously frustrating. I really like the versatility of the device, but the fact that it doesn't always connect makes it difficult to recommend.

OR I have to say, works just as well as the reader I received and is much more portable. It's very light and not that clunky. Most importantly, it connects to the Thunderbolt 3 port without being cluttered. Reads the map. I can log in.
