DAP 542 Natural Plastic Wood X Review

This is really good for projects you want to paint. It dries relatively quickly and sands easily. However, I have found that it does not work well on stains.

Complete nonsense. After a few weeks of being applied to railings and decking, it began to crack and separate from the wood. See photos. Buyer Warning!

That stuff is crap. Used on raw wood. Leave for 4 hours, sand, paint 15 hours after application. Use the picture to judge whether it has absorbed the stain. Don't mess up your project. Buy something else.

Never had particularly good results with wood fillers but this stuff is great. I love how it turns pink and dries up so you can tell where you are. Also, the container doesn't seem to let the contents dry out - this has happened to me countless times.

Product works great but delivery left a lot to be desired. Easy to apply, easy to sand, just perfect. Unfortunately mine arrived a few days later than expected with a broken case so most of it was already dry and solid by the time I got there. I ended up scooping the rest into a ziploc bag and just using the rest from there. The shipping doesn't stop me from ordering again even though it's a good product.

I used this Dap Plastic Wood-X filler on a wooden cabinet and door I built to hide some screw holes. A month later - everywhere I've used the product to cover the holes it's bleeding through the paint and the whole project has stains everywhere I've used the wood file. All my hard work is ruined! I used 1-2-3 primer and Sherwin Williams Super paint to coat my project. This is the same primer and paint combo I use on almost everything. I have never encountered such a wooden file. Our large puppy had a panic attack and caused quite a bit of damage to the door jamb in our house. Parts of the frame were missing, including places where the corners and edges of the frame were completely missing. I thought I would have to replace the door frame. The stains were too large and complex to simply touch up with a trowel, like filling a nail hole in a wall.
