Type of review

Product has helped me a lot during squats. I noticed almost immediately my lifts where cleaner and straighter. Coming from someone who has had major knee issues in the past, this couldn't have been more of a perfect purchase. The only downside was the cover that holds the side stabilizers came off during my first lift and became a bit uncomfortable during my life, but it was easily corrected with some liquid fabric stitch.

Pros
  • Stability,support and comfort…..Good
Cons
  • May not provide enough breathability during exercise

Check the tags for right side and left side

They are very supportive and great for squatting the only reason why I gave it a three star is they sent me to left now I did contact them they said I could return and they would give me a right one but there really wasn’t a difference but the more that I use I can tell that there is a difference between the right and the left. Other than that very nice I enjoy them I just wear another brace on the right side and it seems to work. Just double check the packaging that’s all

Pros
  • Great support, work well for any activity- walking, skiing, running, bowling etc.
Cons
  • May cause skin irritation or chafing

Works as advertised!

I took a gun training course that was 7 hours of standing, walking, and kneeling on rocky dirt. My knees took a beating and I could not participate in all the exercises due to an old injury to my right knee. I enrolled into the same class a few weeks later and I knew I needed something to help me get through it. I found these Dark Iron knee pads/brace. They held up great to all the kneeling, and bending that I had to do. I was even able to get through the exercises that I could not do the first

Pros
  • Support is great and size fits well.
Cons
  • Knee wraps are much more supportive

Great Brace best in my review

This Hass to be the most comfortable knee braces that I have purchased. They allow me to squat with support and prevent pressure on my knees. I do a lot of high intensity Work out, where a lot of squatting in a lot of work on the floor is done, so these knee braces Work great for this style of work out, however; I wish the quality of a brace could be much better as they tend to lose quality due to the work on the floor and the Velcro Used to tighten the brace. You do get the life warranty with…

Pros
  • Fits snugly to the knee without slipping or sliding
Cons
  • May not be effective for people with knee tendinitis

Best sleeves a lifter could as for.

These sleeves are literally life savers! I’ve been able to feel both stronger and more stable lifting with these on. The straps secure the sleeve itself from sliding and slipping down the legs while squatting. With putting up super high numbers on squat, I feel extremely safe with these on and they are super comfortable too.

Pros
  • I have a knee injury, and these help so much and Im even very comfortable running and playing sports.
Cons
  • May be too tight or too loose for some users

Tight but Good for my opinion

I've been using this for about a month and am really impressed. I selected my size based on their charts and was solidly in the middle of the medium size range. These fit me snug, but not painful. They seem to give plenty of support (definitely more than my old "donut" knee braces) without interfering with my motion. The material seems sturdy enough for what it is, but I'm not concerned since Dark Iron is good about backing their products.

Pros
  • Helps to improve form and technique
Cons
  • May cause bruising or soreness over time

This product is easy to get on and off. They make a big deal about not being for competitions and they are soooo right. These would not be legal anywhere. That's OK, what's not OK is they don't support the knee joint. They support above the knee and below the knee which for me (post total knee replacement) is useless. Furthermore the product support struts are already worn through the fabric after about a month of occasional use. Learn how to use wraps if you want real knee support.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • May not prevent knee hyperextension

Better then the one I bought at store

I wouldn’t squat in these or deadlift not designed for that but for every day support of joint it has relieved my ache flexible to let you bend naturally like the straps that you tighten up sleeve with way better then the one I bought at store

Pros
  • Love the product I just needed to get a size up. Keeps my knees from hurting after a long workout
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with latex allergies

Good knee support that keeps my knees from hurting but.

If the velcro gets where it doesn't belong, it sticks really hard, and you will cause minor damage to them when you pull it off. I recommend when taking them off to loosen the velcro straps and reattach them in a loose position. You can also put them on like this. Then tighten the straps. They do offer a lifetime warranty if you register them at their website.

Pros
  • Love them work perfectly
Cons
  • May not stay in place during high-intensity movements

Not great for CrossFit

I got these for support when we do heavier squats, and also some extra padding on lunges. They do the trick there. I don't like the velcro straps though. They're VERY strong, and if they latch onto the regular part of the knee pad it feels like they'll rip the fabric getting them off. It also makes getting them on/off during CrossFit a pain. I may just cut them off.

Pros
  • Accessories
Cons
  • May become deformed after a few uses

Adjustable!: my feedback

Greatest thing about this product is its adjustability. They have a strap on top and strap on bottom to help with fitment which alleviates one of my biggest problems with other knee sleeves. I would either have to get a size too small so they won't keep slipping off during reps or a bigger size to make them somewhat comfortable. With the knee sleeves from Dark Iron Fitness I can get a size that isn't super tight and still make it fit perfectly - no more slipping! As usual with this company it…

Pros
  • The spandex in our knee compression sleeve set is thin but strong. Secured with hook and loop straps, these knee support sleeves will stay in place and won't gather behind the knees.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all types of weightlifting

Dark Iron Fitness -- They never cease to amaze me

Comfortable is an understatement. These knee sleeves slide on and provide incredible support.I recently injured my knees while hiking the AT and have been doing lots of PT-type rehab exercises to restrengthen my patellar tendon. As a result, I have been very cautious about squatting and dead-lifting, using very light weight. I was a little skeptical when I first tried them on, because the Velcro straps kept getting stuck to the outside material; I started to question the quality. While this…

Pros
  • Can be worn during various workouts and sports
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with knee replacements

Helped with joint pain

I got these because my knees would be sore after leg workouts. These improved my workout and eased the post workout soreness. As stated in other reviews, the velcro straps catch on the sleeve and cause deterioration of the material. They still seem to work well, however.

Pros
  • This product is very comfortable; luxury.Look like great wearing sportly!
Cons
  • May not fit all knee sizes and shapes

They dont make XXL anymore. Bought XL and gave them away

Let me first say that these are beautiful beautiful knee wraps. But if you need an XXL like I did they are worthless to you if they only have XL. I gave them to my brother-in-law, and he loves them. I gave it 3-stars because they don't have my size (which they say they do but they don't carry them anymore) I would say 5-stars all the way if they had my size

Pros
  • Can improve overall knee health with consistent use
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with anterior cruciate ligament injuries

A little lose for my opinion

Maybe I’m just not used to them but they feel really lose over my knee. They didn’t help as much as I hoped with the leg press but when I was squatting I noticed a huge difference.

Pros
  • These stay in place comfortably and offer support without restricting range of motion.
Cons
  • May not be effective for people with pre-existing knee injuries

Very good product best in my review

They fit very good could be a little stricter around the knee but very easy to get through leg work out quicker. Has good support and strength has increased in my legs.

Pros
  • {}
Cons
  • May be difficult to put on and take off

Strong & durable. Amazing product for lifting.

I have been using these braces for over 4 months now while deployed to Iraq and they have been absolutely amazing. They are strong and form fitting giving plenty of support when squating and/or deadlifting. They use the new Valero that has held up great over repeated use and have plastic pieces on both sides of the brace for added support when lifting. I was so impressed by the quality of the braces that I also ordered the wrist wraps and lifting belt. Great product and brand. Most definitely…

Pros
  • If you’re looking for a heavyweight gift for your powerlifting partner, our premium quality knee brace with side stabilizers is the champion choice, that won't 'bomb out'!
Cons
  • May not be machine washable

Amazing product at a great price.

Amazing quality and attention to detail like most of Dark Irons products. This is the reason I keep coming back. Great products, great prices. These sleeves fit snug. I ordered a medium based off their sizing chart but do feel like I could have gone with a large. Although I would rather my knee sleeves be tight then loose. The material is very breathable and comfortable. My new addition to leg day. I highly recommend these sleeves.

Pros
  • Made with high-quality, durable materials for long-lasting use
Cons
  • May not be effective for people with knee osteoarthritis

Dark Iron has been great for all my equipment needs

I got a lifting belt about a year ago from dark iron and I loved it. It is still in great shape and suits my needs exactly so I decided to get some knee pads from them. I have loved these as well. Great quality and do exactly what I need them to. They add great support to my knees when squatting without restricting proper movement.

Pros
  • Helps to alleviate knee pain and discomfort
Cons
  • May not provide enough warmth for cold weather exercise

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality product

I have bought a pair of gloves for working out and a belt from Dark Iron. Both products are of excellent quality. I needed a new pair of knee sleeves so I decided to buy the ones by Dark Iron. Again, the quality did not disappoint. Nice design and excellent craftsmanship. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the problem I found with the velcro used to hold the straps. The knee sleeve has two straps, one on top and one at the bottom. They are long as they have to go around your leg…

Pros
  • Small size accommodates those with smaller knee sizes
Cons
  • May cause discomfort when squatting or lunging
