    Doesn't work (mechanic with 15 years experience)

    As others have said, this only works when activated manually, but doesn't work when the brake pedal is used. Installed this and then used forscan to activate it, using forscan and a $10,000 scan tool it showed everything was working but it wouldn't activate unless manually.

    WORKS AS IT SHOULD

    This brake control unit worked as it should. It was a 15 minute setup and another 10 minutes using the Forscan software to activate the brake controller. Everything went smoothly, I have towed two different two-axle trailers with brakes since installation and the brake control unit worked perfectly.

    As an OEM replacement, it didn't work for me. YMMV

    I bought this to replace a factory unit which caused a short and made my truck stink which seems to be a constant Ford problem. This device hooked up straight away and was easy to install. However, it does not activate the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is depressed. I can manually depress it and activate the trailer brakes, but they don't work when the brake pedal is used. I'll try a Ford OEM unit to see if my truck isn't the problem (blown fuse etc). I keep this as a reserve. Just in…
