Precision ground for cutting, shaping and removing metal softer than the cutting edge of the chisel. Made of high carbon steel that has been heat treated. For use on cast iron, wrought iron, steel, bronze and copper. Pad printed with epoxy ink that is easily legible. Includes 401-5/16", 406-5/8" and 408-3/4" Chisels. Includes 3 piece cold chisels. Made in the USA with epoxy ink that is easily legible.

Not suitable for separating wheel bearings

Not suitable for my purpose which is separating the bearing after cutting most of the bearing material with a cutting wheel. The bit material was obviously much softer than stock.

The edges were TERRIBLE when they arrived.

I had to grind new edges on all three before using. However, I ended up buying them to drill a hole in a piece of granite that still needed touching up the edge every few minutes, so it didn't matter for my purpose. For the things you'll be using this chisel for, you'd better have a bench grinder handy. I've never owned a cold chisel so I don't have much like it, but ultimately it's a blunt tool used to hammer things in until they break, so it shouldn't be fancy.

Rough finish but good tool

This is a decent little tool box consisting of 3 pairs of chisels. The finish could use some work, but overall they seem like a decent tool set and I look forward to using them on the items they were designed for. The size range included is a great thing and I'm hoping to find a way to use each one. They're quite rough, with a few surface blemishes, but they're easily removed with a simple disposable cloth.
