I bought this faucet because the person who owned my house before me installed the wrong drain. I have a flat bottom sink. Mine does NOT require a ring that goes between the sink and countertop. Mine is also porcelain and has an overflow. The previous owner installed a grid drain without an overflow. My sink only drains quickly when I put a drop of soap on the grate.
