Review on Decor Star PU 002 TC Bathroom Overflow by Mark Adlesh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great drainage. Works perfectly!

I bought this faucet because the person who owned my house before me installed the wrong drain. I have a flat bottom sink. Mine does NOT require a ring that goes between the sink and countertop. Mine is also porcelain and has an overflow. The previous owner installed a grid drain without an overflow. My sink only drains quickly when I put a drop of soap on the grate. This reduced the surface tension on the mesh, so I knew I wasn't having sewage problems in my home's plumbing. I enlarged the holes in the grate but it looked awful so I decided to buy this drain. Upon taking out the old drain, I found that the previous owner had installed the drain nut on the countertop and not the sink. When I removed the sink I found that the water pooled under the flat part and adhesive of this sink. I followed the previous reviewer's (Wislak) directions. I used tap water putty and made sure the concave washer was facing up. Some other drains have the concave washer facing down, but this goes up as shown. I measured the width of the drain hole and the 1-5/8" fits perfectly. The gasket that came with this drain fits the sink hole perfectly with no gaps. I would advise measuring the width of the drain hole and not something too tight The thing I did apart from the Wieslak's reviewer's picture demo was to include a hard plastic spacer and it went after the silicone spacer and before the brass nut. This is to prevent the brass nut from cutting into the spacer. That A previous hole I had on the countertop was drilled to 1-3/4". Because the bottom of my sink was wider with this drain, I had to widen the hole to almost 3". I've looked at other flat-bottomed sinks and they also described a larger opening..I installed the drain on the vessel sink including the exhaust pipe before placing it on the countertop. As all ric I applied a small bead of glue to the bottom of the jar and set it securely to sink. Another nut was not needed under the sink. The drain is shorter than my previous one and only works if you attach it to the sink first and then throw it down the hole. It doesn't work under the counter and tries to rotate everything that way. No leaks on first try. The water goes straight down. If you apply plumbing sealant to the top ring, it will push down and seal the second overflow hole in the drain. I am an intermediary. I hope this helps others out there.
