The lamps are certainly delicate. I accidentally broke one while trying to put it back together. For assembly you need to attach the "head" of the lamp as well as the cord through the conical end of the vase. This part is made of thin glass, so be very careful when you put everything in it.

The lamps are beautiful, look like the photo. However, I noticed the small size of the shipping box. They achieved this by shipping the lamps unassembled, minus the wire that runs through the base. It was a bit tricky to get the lamp holder properly into the collar that attaches to the harness. In addition, the plafonds came a little crumpled.

This lamp set was designed for the guest room. I wanted a deep teal and it was a good price. The packaging was the most difficult part of assembling these lamps and placing them on the bedside table. I had to downgrade it from 5 stars because it was lost in shipping and was about a week late and one of the lampshades has a dent, I was able to get most of the dent by hand removed but a small wrinkle remains. These are lampshades without velcro, a complete lampshade and just to mention that since the last lamp I bought from Brightech, the lampshade had to be attached and secured with velcro. The packaging was terrible. Styrofoam is bad enough, but the stuff was broken into pieces, and bits and pieces were sticking to everything - EVERYTHING! When removing the lamp parts from the box, pieces of foam stuck to hands, clothes, carpet. Both shades are corrupted and cannot be restored. The sockets of the lamp have to be screwed into the base, which is very cumbersome as the cable is already threaded in tightly. Bulbs come in bulk packs. Most of the styrofoam was broken inside so I know they were badly damaged getting here but the lamps and lampshades inside were in perfect condition! The emerald blue bases are very nice but the tints look a bit cheap. One of mine had some frayed spots at the top where the thread was unraveling, plus there was a line that almost looked like a pencil line about an inch from the bottom; but when I looked closely it looked more like where the thread had disappeared into the weave.
