It's strong steel and not from the home hardware store and beyond.

Never discontinued this product, went to Lowes, got junk, went to Home Depot, got junk too. If you need to replace the dryer vent cover on the outside wall of your home then this is the product you need, it's made of durable steel, not home hardware and Top Revain offers a super duper price. Excellent.

arrived in good condition (big box with lots of bubbles)

arrived in good condition (big box with lots of bubbles), was quite long (11 inches, I had to cut it), wish they came with a gasket under the vent valve (I added something that works great with this because the valve sling allows the vent to sit further as if it were designed to have a gasket and mesh to keep critters out (I have added that too).

Simple and Effective

You'd think designing the dryer vent would be easy, but all of the models at Home Depot were rubbish. They had plastic parts that broke easily, the vent tube needed to be attached (and easily detached), and used parts that would eventually fail. I decided to take a look at Revain and this is the model I want to buy. This deflector costs less money, everything is solid, does not break. It's simple and effective and gets the job done. 5 Stars.

Sharp metal edges - parts and accessories

Advantages: One-piece construction so the transwall tube does not detach from the outer ventilation hood. The previous contender (bought from Ace Hardware) was so flimsy that it fell apart despite numerous "repairs" with superglue and duct tape. Cons: This thing is made from very thin sheet metal and has very sharp edges. No attempt was made to use the bevel on the edges which would tear the aluminum foil on the air hose. Again, adhesive tape was needed to set the standard for low-cost…

Well done great price

I wanted to give a minus one star here because the seam on the carbide part of the duct had a seam that was a bit jagged at the end and caught on my flexible plastic tube when I got it connected, but what is the price difference. I covered the uneven portion of the seam with a piece of HVAC tape, trimmed the torn end of my flexible plastic tubing and was able to connect with no problems. a metal vent flap but found the flap worked well enough with gravity so I'm sending the return flap back.

Seems like a small change but $8 isn't that bad

If I had spent more on this I wouldn't be very happy. Big play in the hinge. The wing door is slightly curved so that it never closes properly all the way around. But the price is right and the long channel comes in handy. I put a small neodymium magnet on the door to help it close better and not flap in the wind and it should be passable indefinitely and serve its purpose. Maybe one day, if the financial possibilities match the motivation, I'll upgrade it to a real gasket with a gasket and…

Great product!: Parts and accessories

I have replaced at least 3 drying vents in the last 2 years. cold winters. It's almost impossible to find a dryer vent that is 100% metal. The hardest part for me was ripping out the old one as it was built in with foam insulation. But after the release, this one came like a glove. It also gave me a nudge to clean not just the dryer vent/hose, but the dryer itself. At least two cycles were required to dry the laundry load before cleaning. After cleaning, the hair dryer works like new! This is a

Very good product. Can be made amazing with small magnets.

Not sure about the description. To clarify, it's a vent tube, shroud, and valve at the closed end that keeps critters and drafts out. There is nothing more. Seems to be well made and will likely last a very long time. The damper works by gravity and is very light. Outside wind or positive air pressure inside the house will force it open. In my application, the existing opening was uneven, causing the wing to remain ajar and flap in the wind. Between this and the lightness of the valve, I…

Thin and light but durable

When I bought my house a few years ago, an industrial house, I never noticed that there was no external vent for drying. The dryer vented onto the floor and I never thought about it. I never cared if he went outside then. Why should I? Too many other renovations in this old house. I recently bought a new washer and dryer and when I installed them I found that the dryer vented to the floor but that's about it. No wonder rabbits and other critters live under my house in the winter. It's warm…
