Thermal throttling at 50% CPU load

Thermal throttling at 50% CPU utilization. I sent it to Dell for repair but after getting it back it still had the same problem. Incompetence or a design flaw, I'm not sure. Sent back to seller.

Fan noise is unbearable out of the box

My biggest issues with this one day laptop: 1. Out of the box fan noise was terrible. It took me a while to fix it (about 2 hours).2. I would have thought that an 8th Gen Intel i7 processor would offer much faster speeds. Not much.3. When they contacted Dell's online customer support, their first "solution" was to ship the unit directly back to Dell for a fan replacement! (The 'fix' is to navigate to windows boot, go to the Dell Update tab and install the new BIOS update. Looks like it workedโ€ฆ

Stable for 3+ years Suitable for computers and accessories

This Dell is rock solid. I bought it in 2018 and have since replaced the battery and added an SSD card instead of an HD. The computer runs Windows 10 for 3 hours. With an SSD, files open almost instantly. Adding was easy with YouTube videos.

Waste of money on computers and tablets

I bought this laptop from Costco in Spring 2019. It started failing regularly around the time the warranty ran out. I use less than half the capacity. No games, just basic personal and business use. The screen is locked. Documents are not opened. The touch screen and touch panel are very sensitive and do not react sufficiently. Doesn't always connect to WIFI, even at home. Keyboard movements are random and erase sentences. Backspace and delete by reaction. So very disappointed. Always boughtโ€ฆ

I bought this unit from Office Depot last year.

. The display is a TN panel, not an IPS panel. TN panels have terrible viewing angles. So if you notice that the screen is unevenly bright when viewed directly from top to bottom, then that's the TN panel. TN displays are common on low-end laptops, so this isn't a real hit for Dell, but anyone who is picky about a display should be aware. I used the device as a desktop replacement with an external monitor, keyboard and mouse for a few months, so the internal display didn't really matter toโ€ฆ
