💻 Dell Optiplex 990 SFF Desktop PC - Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHz 8GB 500GB DVDRW Windows 10 Pro (Refurbished) Review

If you know about computers (know what and where Device Manager is) I recommend this PC for basic computing needs. I set up this computer for my father to surf the internet, work in the office, and do tax work and so far so good. FYI: There is no Wi-Fi adapter. I don't use this pc regularly so can't call it a permanent pc but from what i've seen it seems a solid pc and i'm reviewing it myself right now to see how it holds up full time PC role. .

The first hard drive that has failed for a few months. To the credit of the seller, a replacement was sent quickly. Then after a few months it all stopped turning on. Seller did an RMA but not worth paying for shipping and receiving. Now I have files/data that I can't access or delete without another computer. As a result, cheap but unreliable.

The product arrived quickly in good packaging. The tower is not the 990 series that the description said it was the 790. I saw another review that said the same thing, to me this is misleading and borders on decoy and parody. However the hard drive has more capacity than the description which is good and compared to my 720 Optiplex this device is much faster for me to do my work from home. A good computer so far. Despite the description, my computer arrived without any accessories, keyboard or mouse and the warranty says it only lasts 30 days. Have contacted the seller. They assured me that my warranty is valid for the whole 1 year and they will ship the accessories immediately. Accessories received as promised!

The computer came in less than 3 days, the first time I turned it on I had a boot configuration. Was actually shipped from Dell OptiPlex 790. There is very little difference between 790 and 990, but advertising 990 and shipping 790 is misleading.

First of all the Dell Optiplex 990 is an older machine that I was familiar with. Before purchasing, note that you need a Windows product key, otherwise it will not start. You'll need a disc, or you can just boot Windows from another computer onto a USB stick.
