Thing is smooth.

Every once in a while you come across a really great product. This is one of them. Attaches to the monitor with a magnet on my Dell P3421W with a USB connection cable. Just works and sounds great with macOS and mini.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Neutral

It plays sound on your home audio system

Highly recommended if you want your computer to sound like a 1970's clock radio. I gave 2 stars for the convenience of adding sound to a Dell monitor which should already sound at least as good as this - the magnets work well.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Ignore all positive reviews. It sucks.

Terrible terrible terrible sound quality. Remember the sound of a laptop 10-20 years ago. Completely unacceptable. Dell is a pretty solid brand in general and I buy a lot of their stuff. This item is embarrassing and should be withdrawn from sale immediately.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Worse than expected

Stylish soundbar attached to the monitor with magnets. Unfortunately, the quality is far from what you would expect from a Dell product. I would compare the sound quality to a cheap $12 pair of external speakers you would buy at Walmart as a day buy. Terrible. Choose another option.

Pros
  • Only good things
Cons
  • Some little things

Good clean sound - little bass

This soundbar attaches well to the underside of a number of Dell monitors using a magnet - see the documentation for the specific monitor. The small size is a plus, and it has nice, clear sound - great for watching Youtube videos, most of which have audio, or listening to music occasionally. However, the small size means the bass is too limited for serious music listening. It's worth the money for the convenience and decent sound though.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Poor kit

Does not work with non-computer HDMI inputs

The manual says that when connected to the P2721Q you will ALSO need USB uplink if the input source is HDMI. Connecting a computer might be possible, but we wanted to use this speaker with a P2721Q monitor with a Nintendo Switch and the speaker doesn't use the audio that comes over the HDMI cable, only USB. So it might be good for a computer, but not for a gaming device. We bought the P2721Q primarily for computer use and wanted to improve the sound but that didn't work with the switch either…

Comfortable design not worth the price

Pros: Compact design attaches magnetically to compatible Dell monitors (P2721Q, P3221D, P3421W, U2421E). Cons: no microphone; average sound quality (no bass); relatively high price ($50). Without a microphone, the SB521A is not suitable for video conferences; and the sound quality is not suitable for music. The magnetic mount is very handy (if you have a compatible monitor) and the sound quality is sufficient for listening to podcasts or similar dialogue. But $50 is too expensive for such a…
