Doesn't work well on stained glass

I bought this hoping to use it as an edge guide for my stained glass projects. Although the description says it's for stained glass, it never evened out the edges of my glass. I even tried sharpening the glass for about 15 minutes and still nothing seemed to happen. I thought I might have used the wrong side, so I turned it over and tried that side, but still nothing.

Pros
  • Whetstones
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Great Tool for Stained Glass Toolbox

The stone is very easy to use and is great for smoothing sharp edges on pieces of glass. This doesn't remove the warpage, it just helps smooth it out so you're less likely to cut yourself and makes working with the pieces in stained glass projects easier. I recommend wearing safety goggles during use - small splinters can break off. Also use it where you don't mind getting glass dust, I used mine on a waffle stand.

Pros
  • Power and Hand Tools
Cons
  • Unsure

Easy to hold, easy to use

I normally work with molten glass and use an electric grinder if necessary for most jobs, but I have done very specific projects that have required hand grinding. I was a little afraid of it, but I have to say that it was very quick and easy with this sharpening stone. It only took a swipe over every sharp edge and corner to safely handle the broken glass. I'll be using it extensively in my cold jobs and it's absolutely less fussy than having to set up my grinder for smaller jobs.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Available in white only
