A good hammer until it fell apart :(

In just 3 months the head fell off the handle. I think with occasional use for its intended purpose it will last much longer. If the seller replaces this broken one , I would be much happier, but I don't see how to even notify them.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Some minuses

The head wobbled, was poorly assembled

Can't make general assumptions, but the hammer I received was wobbly. The head is attached to the handle with a very poorly cut wedge, just pinched and glued. I understand paying a little more for something like this for a quality product.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from the testers
Cons
  • There are flaws

Cheap and useless.

I'm not sure what's luxurious about it. Came in with a dangling head by the handle. Easily secured with a simple wedge, but the head is so soft that after driving a few small #18 nails into the soft wood, it was gutted. It's marked as a rivet hammer, maybe for marshmallow rivets? Maybe it was created just to be looked at. Not recommended for any money.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • The list goes on.

good banger Comfortable to the touch

Nice hammer. Has a good "feel". The handle is the right length for me. The head is well polished. My only complaint is that the head is starting to come off and I've only used it a couple of times to refinish aluminum car panels. For the price, the head should remain closed for life. Maybe I'm stupid. Easy enough to fix, but it's not something you have to do.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Empty

Lower quality than pictured

The hammer I received was of lower quality, the hammer head is held in place by a tiny wire that is drilled over the handle, is loose, does not sit on the handle and is lined with black Epoxy bonded. Headspace as shown in the pictures, the wooden handle has a very rough texture, it is clear I did not receive what is shown, so buy the cheapest listed, it is exactly the same. save $$$

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled

Very soft metal hammer head

This hammer head is obviously very soft metal. After forming and setting two 1/16 inch cupro-nickel wire rivets, the striking face of this hammer showed noticeable pitting. Since I will be using it to make and set cupronickel and brass rivets, it obviously doesn't stand up to the task and quickly begins to roughen the rivet heads.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Available in white only

very good hammer for the price

arrived well packaged and scratched. Both hammer surfaces are smooth - I didn't have to polish to get a smooth finish on my hammered parts. It's lightweight and easy to use, especially for smaller jobs. I would not use this for large molding work. Best for riveting (which it's designed for), forming smaller wire gauges (16g or less), and very fine embossing. Great price for quality.

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • little things

Didn't like this hammer

Hammer arrives well packaged. sent back. Maybe I don't care what my tools look like, but I don't care. Things are important to me, and when I make something I care how it looks. Apparently Bidsmith didn't want to send in anything that looked like it was half hollowed out and then half coated. The head looked like it had been chiseled to fit the head with no attempt to finish it.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
