Home theater disappointment

I bought two of these. Not particularly impressed. The LED display on one burned out after two months and crackles intermittently. It is being renovated. Terrible, unusable Bluetooth. AirPlay works but is buggy. You must be a scientist to connect the second zone. I just don't see them lasting very long. Denon can do that better.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Long wait

Great deal for the price

Bought during the crazy pre-holiday sale for $300. Great deal for this price. Feels incredibly light compared to the old Denon class 3318 but does so much more. Setting up Audessy is as easy as ever and does a great job with MultiEQ and other similar features. The new OSD is impressive. The main reason for the upgrade was to be able to pass 3D signals with the newer HDMI standard compared to the old receiver, but overall it's a good upgrade package.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • For old

Excellent work! for home cinema

The Multeq XT is a great addition to this receiver. Got this on the one day sale at Revain for theft (two ninety nine). All features work as expected and sound pretty good for 2ch audio and great for Hi-Res Blu-ray audio! I've recently started using the Audio Return Channel on my Sony TV. It works 95% of the time, if it stops a simple x1100w power reset will revive it. No need to wait 15 minutes. Just turn it off with the power button, then turn the device off and on again. It seems to stop…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No power

Best AVR I've ever tried

I've had it for a few months now and am very happy with the performance and features. I am also replacing an old Teac AVR. I first tried the Sony DR-840 and was happy with it until there was some hum on channels 6 and 7. It went back. Then I tried the Onkyo nr626 and was not satisfied with it in every way. Setup was cumbersome and fewer features too. Eventually the HDMI transmission failed and it came back. Then I tried this Denon and it was the best in almost every way. The setup was the most…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Low repairability

Dead display on Denon AVR-X1100w. Do not buy!

Denon AVR-x1100w receiver I had an Onkyo receiver for a few years to set up my 7.1 speakers. Before buying, I looked at different models for several weeks. Spent many hours in a special thread of the respected forum Av. Everyone loves this model. At first I was happy, but after a few years I started having problems, and then it just stopped. Came back to this forum Av and found that my problem is very common. Why wasn't this shown before I bought it? Last September (2014) I started looking…

Made my job easier.

This is my first real receiver so I can't say if it's better than (insert whatever you see). I can tell you that I was happy with my initial setup and usage experience with my 5.1 speakers that I purchased. Monoprice Premium 5.1 Home Theater System with Subwoofer (110565) (I'll be upgrading to 7.2 on my birthday) Installation was surprisingly easy. You plug everything in, plug it in, turn it on and he walks you through the rest. Calibrating the speakers with the included mic made my poor…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
