Works as advertised. My lid came loose, I assumed it was tight and didn't even try to tighten it. Something had made a greyish deposit under the lid, as if something had leaked and oxidized on the aluminum of the container. I hope not, it's pretty expensive to lose what should be more than half at one time.

Deoxide is great for contact lenses. This pen is ideal for applying tiny drops directly to contact surfaces. Use with a soft, clean eraser to remove thick buildup. deoxit d5 spray is a diluted version, suitable as a contact cleaner when you cannot reach the contacts directly (e.g. a switch that cannot be disassembled).

Over time, AV connections tend to oxidize, resulting in poor signal transfer and sometimes a noticeable drop in performance. The DeoxIT pen is an easy way to coat such connections with a substance that removes oxidation and restores it to its original state. An example is a very old (1974) stereo receiver. Great product. Bad applicator. I have been using Deox it for many years as a spray and also in a liquid applicator bottle. This applicator doesn't seal very well and evaporates this wonderful product fairly quickly. I highly recommend /Deox It because it not only deoxidizes oxidized surfaces but also leaves a tear film that wraps around the contacts after breaking.
