Derwent appreciates again!

If this company was made in the USA I would buy their shares! Because it's a watercolor face kit, it's easier to blend the face paints with it. It's not easy for a novice colorist like me, but I'm trying! Sometimes I use waterless pens because it looks just right, but fear overwhelms me. Or I used media that isn't fully watercolored. They go well together. Seriously guys, I haven't tried any of their products that I didn't like!

False advertising!

I gave this one star simply because there was supposed to be 12 different skin tones when I received this pencil set, Red Carmine, White, Terracotta, Raw Umber, Sand, Yellow Ocher, Burnt Umber, Rose, Black, Pink, cream and brown. Well the set I received had 12 pens but 2 of each color: Cream, Pink, Pink, Terracotta, Carmine and Sand. If I knew there were only 6 tones, I wouldn't waste money or time. So be careful, you may not get 12 different tones as advertised.

Good set to start with

I was looking for a good set of pencils that would capture skin tones but mostly I found that they weren't the colors I was looking for or that there was a few shades were missing from the set, which I think is necessary for ethnic portraits. I can't say they have all the skin tones I've been looking for, but most do. A Few Other Colors I just went to my local art store and picked up a few to fill in the gaps and highlight the colors I already have. I think this is a great starter kit for…
