Sturdy glass, quality pigment

Comfortable to use wet or dry. Rich and deep pigment. All these colors in this glass are very close to each other in shades. multiple use. I want more colors from this brand. The heavy can protects the color strips.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Amazing product and effects.

What more could you ask for? They are amazing and go well with water. They also work well with water-soluble graphite pencils. Using an eraser also works well with this medium. Can be used as watercolor paints.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Everything great

Large size to cover large areas and color.

Excellent graphite blocks for covering large areas in a short time. I like the variety of colors and have used them often. In addition to drawing/sketching, you can use a large format to cover a piece of paper that you need to use as a graphite transfer for watercolor or canvas.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • So far so good

I absolutely LOVE them they are quite big so you can.

I really LOVE these they are quite big so you can cover a lot of space in a short amount of time, they are easy to blend, I use water brushes with them, but you can use a brush and water, or you can let them dry and blend. The colors are pleasant, very natural and soft.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Short instructions

Positive Amazing!

These water-soluble graphite blocks are amazing! They are soft enough for light, soft blends like charcoal and soft pastels. When wet, they produce bright, opaque colors. I use them all the time with regular charcoal, Inktense blocks and graphite pencils. Derwent makes fantastic, one of a kind products so I am not surprised at the quality of this product. Costs money. Derwent deserves a permanent place in my art inventory lol.

Pros
  • Unique softness and silvery sheen
Cons
  • Little things

I love graphite pencils and they are made of the same material.

I love graphite pencils and they are made of the same material as the lead in them. I tried them and knew they were good. I would also like to say that I was able to determine the inventory value of this set. This is when an item is in stock that has a problem, usually just in the packaging. This particular box had scratches on the tin. The graphite blocks themselves were in perfect condition and I got a bargain. I bought another item that had a packaging issue and it was fine too. I don't know

Pros
  • Use them for fine lines and subtle shading for bold strokes and deep tonal effects
Cons
  • Very expensive

You get a lot and won't run out fast so it's worth the cost

Love these big chunky graphite blocks. They come in a nicely padded tin and I think the cut out foam that the blocks sit in is a way of making them durable. I find it better to rub the block on a sheet of palette paper and paint from it than using it like watercolors. They can fall apart over time if you use them in the usual way. I will replace them and not use new ones like pan paint. I love the effect, the colors, the grain and how beautifully it spreads, blends and lays. It's not good for…

Pros
  • Add water for more versatility and additional artistic potential including splashes and washes
Cons
  • Expensive
