Essential for precision video and architectural photography

This is one of those things you don't know until you try it. With tripods that have standard adjustments like levers and ball heads, it's difficult to make micro-adjustments to get to a REAL level. This adds just the right amount of control to really achieve accuracy. UPDATE It's been a few months and the adjustable screw has started falling apart on one of them. Disappointing, but at least 2 other controls still work. I still have to be patient until this shoot is finished.

Neat form, bad function.

I bought this for use in real estate photography where perfect horizontal position is crucial to align the frame with walls, windows etc. This can do it, but it takes time. The construction looks solid. The spirit levels seem pretty useless, but I still use the in-camera spirit level. You can get close to the ideal level, but it may take a few minutes. I got frustrated trying to level the camera before I got the perfect height. Bottom line: buy a $200 gear head so you can get perfectly aligned…

Ideal for panorama tripod heads!

Correct machine of excellent quality. The Desmond DLEVX-68 allows you to fine tune the height of your camera on a tripod. It is very accurate and the workmanship is excellent. This tool screws into the top of the tripod and then the camera (or in my case the tripod head for panoramic shots) attaches to the DLEVX-68. Three built-in bubble levels help level the platform before installing the camera. They can be difficult to spot once the camera is in place, but that shouldn't be a problem if it's

Looks solid and well made, but the spirit levels will not fit

TLDR: Seems solid and well made but the levels do not work The photos show all three levels when the unit is perfectly level as shown by the individual levels and the digital level. Please note: NONE of the bubbles will sit in the center of their guides no matter how hard you try. I am very satisfied with the build quality of this base as well as the good price. However, I found the quality control of this company terrible in terms of their levels. Neither their slide nor the leveling base I…
