The product works very well and has no unpleasant smell. Multiple treatments may be required depending on how bad the drain is and where the trap is located. I let it sit and then wash it off the next morning. The drain is much better but not perfect because it was never properly installed. I will eventually replace the lines but it will work until the time is right.
