First of all I would like to say that he takes very good care of my beard. It came out soft but not too oily. I really liked that aspect. The description says "cedar, vanilla and tobacco" but actually I only smell vanilla. It's a very light shade of tobacco, but I wouldn't have guessed it if I didn't know what it was supposed to be. I have purchased Corktown Beard Oil several times. The formula seems to have changed from batch to batch as the earlier bottles I bought had a different smell than the newest ones (especially the earlier batches which came in square bottles rather than rectangular). While I'm not entirely opposed to the newest incarnation, I liked the old formula better.

As a black male I always worry about hair products working well on my very thick hair but this product worked. . My only gripe is that the vanilla is a little underpowering. Something about him reminds me of the smell of too much lipstick on my lips. In any case, this is what prompted me to try Traverse City and it became my favorite right away. There are a lot more reviews of it than Traverse City right now, so I'm in the minority. So try it yourself, many people like this one.

I can't get enough of the smell. This is easily the BEST smelling beard oil and probably one of the best scents out there. However, this is not the best beard oil in my opinion. After switching to this exclusively different oil, I noticed that my face was drier and more itchy than before. I've also noticed that the oil soaks into your beard and it feels a little rough. Unfortunately, due to irritation, I will go back to my old oil.
