I love these drill bits

Drilled 72 holes in a 1/4 inch angle iron and cut the 72nd hole almost as easily as the 1st hole. I confess that I used a lot of coolant in the process. and did all drills at 1-2 second intervals to reduce heat build-up, however I had less success with the more expensive drills.

Pros
  • power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • unreliable

This is an exercise. It works.

Perfect for my application (cross dowel drilling for smaller 3/8" dowels that should be removable). Beaten oak like butter. I tried not to push through 100% to avoid having to just let the pilot tip break through the surface on the exit side, flip the job and finish drilling.

Pros
  • Electric Drill Parts and Accessories
Cons
  • Something Else

The pilot point is a bit worthless.

I think the pilot part of these drills is absolutely not worth it. I was trying to find a good deal on Amazon and came across this product. I thought it would be ok but the square tip makes it very difficult to cut bad threads for the spiral coil. On a drill press this would probably be fine since you can work slowly. I'm pretty sure a standard bit would be the way to go for me. I've also drilled through fiberglass and it's still wandered. I no longer get a pilot grade. I'm not a drill expert…

Pros
  • Jobber drills
Cons
  • Some little things
