Dewalt 1/2 Variable Speed Drill Bit

We've used Milwaukee drill rigs for many years but they didn't last long so I tried a Dewalt 1/2 hole bit which is a bit heavier, but lasts longer and until we had to replace them, as electricians we drill a lot of holes without stopping. I recommend this holey pig to any contractor testing their tools.

heavy, powerful: drill driver

That's what you want when you're drilling downhill and you're scared when you're drilling up. It will punch a sizable hole in almost anything with minimal handling issues. The weight makes it easier to control and harder to tie. It's also a great spinning power source for DIY equipment. Not the first drill I'll turn to, but when I need it nothing else will get the job done so well and safely. Lighter drills will twist wrists or pinch hands against nearby objects. Not this animal.

Pros
  • power tools and hand tools
Cons

Should have bought this sooner!

I'll start off by saying I've been using Milwaukee drill bits for about 20 years. I have their virtual grave as I only use them for around 3-6 months before rebuilding the gears. I bought DeWalt to try with skepticism. I've had this drill for about a month now and it beats Milwaukee in every way. My drills check the raw installation in about 50 households a year. The DeWalt doesn't seem to get as hot as a Milwaukee with constant use, and while it draws more amps, my alternator feels lighter…
