Dexter K7138500 Conversion Kit: Simplifying Your Dexter Experience Review

Switched my axle from the top spring to the bottom one. Works great. I have an additional 6 inches of clearance for my black water tank and outlet that used to be pulled off the road when driving off.

My trailer (KZ 180TH) was scratched when reversing into the driveway. This set definitely solved the problem, although now I need to find a three-tier entry level. Attached before and after photos.

With the help of a friend or two, anyone can make this product. I would recommend that you have a little knowledge of welding to install this product as a whole. So far this product has withstood the abuse of the Illinois Road without failure

It couldn't be easier or cheaper to convert to undersprung axles! With modern day 4WD trucks as well as towing your trailer into rougher dirt terrain these kits are what you need! Of course, it's not as strong as if the spring seats were welded on top of the axles, but not everyone wants to pay a spring shop for that! This is a great solution and worked well for my 30ft fifth wheel that was towed by my F-550!

I received two sets of K71-385-00 for 3" axles. Both kits have the same part number and say "3" pipe conversion kit. Before installing I made sure all the necessary parts were included in the kit, which they were, but after measuring the U-bolts I saw that they weren't. would work for my axles as the inside diameter is only about 2 1/2" and I could only guess that the kit is actually designed for 2 3/8" axles Kit #K71-384-00. I have contacted Dexter and am hoping to get this issue resolved…

This is a very durable kit that works great although it is a bit pricey and contains items that are not really needed. I used this kit in combination with the Dexter HD Shock Kit and found that all I really needed from this kit were spring bars, U-bolts and nuts. If you want to raise your trailer and it doesn't already have a shock, buy a shock kit and then go to your local TSC (Tractor Supply Company) for new spring mounts and u-bolts at a much lower cost.
