Tough, Curved, Heavy

Edit: Last time I ordered them almost half of them were unusable. I couldn't open some and given the application I need them for, this doesn't fit. I am extremely disappointed. These buckles are really heavy and curved. They stay buttoned up and go well with dog collars for my Etsy shop (PeacexLovexPets); however, they are too heavy to be used on cat collars. They are also very expensive as there are only 10 per order.

Half of these didn't work

Some of these clips were used to make collars for friends and family as plastic collars have broken on some large dogs in the past. Half of them didn't work or didn't open, unfortunately I made a whole collar before I realized one wasn't working and all that time and effort was wasted. I've had a few people try to see if they can open it to no avail, but it really shouldn't be difficult. Not worth a dime if it doesn't do what it's supposed to!

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Low repairability

OK if you don't mind strumming

The 5/8 buckle set I received had a lot of play. The buckles seemed to hold up well. I wouldn't trust them with a charge, but I would trust them not to remove the belt. And the build quality was decent (although I suspect the plating chipped off fairly easily). The problem I have is that the tabs holding the buckle are too small. There is a good 1-2mm of play, resulting in annoying ringing. I suspect most people who buy tea want to make jewelry out of it. And for metal jewelry, this isn't a…

Question about the durability of these buckles.

I originally purchased this product to make paracord dog collars. Upon arrival they were a bit heavier than I expected, but I decided to keep the product for other paracord projects anyway. Then I decided to make a paracord survival bracelet and started making a bracelet using a template. When I got to the bracelet I tightened the paracords and noticed that one side of the male part was moving away from the female (see photo). I'm pretty sure this shouldn't have happened, but I managed to…

At first I was happy to use metal buckles for my paracord projects but after using them I was very disappointed that the build quality is not up to par and they just break with use. I've only used 5 so far and I'm sure I'll be forced to use the rest as I paid for them on my limited hobbyist budget, but I'm very famous for this as the last pair I used were temporary broke after. . I finish my bracelet. I just put the bracelet on and the latch in the buckle broke rendering it unusable and all my…
