Edit: After writing the review below, I rechecked the threads and compared them to a known good connector, only to find that the DHT adapter had the wrong thread pitch. I've attached an image showing a good connector (Silver) versus a DHT adapter (Yellow). As you can see the threads are not nested as they should be if they had the same thread pitch.
