A bit fiddly, but it worked.

If you have problems, try to loosen the twist lock on the side. Doesn't sit right. Was giving me a headache for hours thinking my app or obd2 scanner was struggling. Out of disappointment I tried blocking it by just 1/2 and lo and behold it works. work is done. And it always seems to work that way. A little ringing and not completely blocked.

The cable is not suitable for diagnostic, testing and measuring tools

Does not work with Odb Link 2 lx. It didn't interact with the logic of my 2013 R 1200 RT. I used the Motoscan Pro version. This was recommended by one of the BMW forums. It was a real bummer. The shell on it was a pain in the ass, I had to pry it open so I could connect it. After spending quite a bit of time it turned out that the cable wasn't good. Although it was the recommended cable.

This cable is excellent BUT BMW Motorad uses their own protocol so you will need BMW specific software

Whilst it is a well made cable that fits perfectly (so 5 stars) Doesn't mean you can use OBD-2 reading software or diagnostic tool; Since BMW Motorad (their motorcycle division) seems to use a different protocol than most other vehicles, my reader was unable to extract the codes to help me diagnose my ABS light and unfortunately the only reader I found of, that it may cost $300 and already has a round connector.
