Description of Diamond Antenna RH3 RH-3 Mini HT 144/440 Dual Band Antenna: Efficient Mobile Communication Solution

"Black bullet" high quality, high gain HT antenna. Increase the performance on your handheld or wideband scanner with a Diamond RH series antenna. Compact design, +120-900 receive. Antenna, Dual-Band HT, Portable, Stubby, 2 m, 70 cm, 10 W, BNC, Male Connector, 1.75 in. Height. The Diamond RH3 is called a "Bullet" antenna because it is not much longer than a bullet! It is only 1.75 inches tall and is designed for 2 Meters and 440 MHz. It can be used for wideband receive from 120 to 900 MHz. Frankly it is not much for gain (-2.5 dB relative to stock antennas), but it is conveniently compact. It can handle up to 10 watts and terminates to a 50 ohm BNC.

Great signal for such a small antenna

I use these at home and connect to my local Pi-Star hotspot. Also picks up lots of local traffic, police/fire brigade and some nearby repeaters. I am impressed!

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Frequency

SWR is terrible at 2m and 440!

Not suitable for amateur bands. Not even a good dummy cargo and way overpriced. Can't expect much from a shorty but should be better especially for the price.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Great stub antenna for use with hotspot

I have a Raspberry Pi with a ZUMSpot USB hotspot. This is a great little antenna for using a hotspot while camping at a campsite. And while I'm at home, I can walk my dog in the neighborhood and stay connected with the hotspot at home. I took a hard foam case with me for all the components of the access point so that I could take it with me on the go. This box has a special place for this antenna. Highly recommended for use with any amateur radio access point.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Repair
