Excuse the gender stereotype but I guess most boys won't like that. Most bikes in this price range are not very good. I was looking for a slightly better brand and found this one. Overall the bike is well made, but some corners are cut at this price point. I had to file the spring on the stem to fully fit the headset. There is some rough/unfinished work in the fork/steerer that could cut your fingers and/or bind the stem. Overall, however, it is quite acceptable for this price and age range…

My daughter is 3.5 years old, average height and 16" is a bit too big for her. However, 12" wheels would be too short, so choosing this size was a good decision (it fits the training wheels that are included). The bike looks and rides great.
