Tell me the temperature of my water pipe.

This is my second. the first lost accuracy after a few years. I never sent it in for recalibration. just bought a new one. Let me know the temperature of my water line to my RV.

Waterproof cable with the best temperature and humidity ratings

I needed a NIST-traceable waterproof thermometer that I didn't have to hold in my hands while it stabilized. It worked great. I can plug the body and probe into the stream while taking other measurements. The connection of the probe to the cable appears to be waterproof. I used it to measure water temperature and soil temperature. It was the only thermometer that met all of my needs. Nice that it works so well.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Small Parts

Worked perfectly for the first 48 hours and adjusted my 17 year old thermostat to 0.5°F in the 77-80°F range. On the 3rd day the water temperature in the aquarium was 131F, on the 4th day it was 277F. Water boils at 212F and the water in my tank (to my unexperienced eye) still appeared to be liquid. I'm asking for a replacement and will update the review if it works better, but I don't have high hopes. UPDATE: After using Thermometer #2 for 4 weeks I am increasing it from 1 to 4 stars. No…
