This is a cute little radio

This is a cute little radio, especially considering the price. I mounted it on the back of my old wooden tabletop radio and routed the signal to the amplifier section of the receiver. Now I can hear the nice old radio (which was only AM). I attached a thin piece of wire (24 ga) about 14 inches long for the antenna and it picks up all my local stations. Thanks very much!

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Nothing

Works as described - home theater

I bought this little unit to replace a broken tuner component in my ceiling speaker. Standalone tuners are hard to find or as large as a typical receiver/amp making them unsuitable for my application. I will look for or design a 3D printed case for this device. I'm using the headphone output on this unit (no speakers connected) so I can't comment on the built in amplifier. The sensitivity is good. Cut 75cm of 24 AWG wire for the antenna (you will need soldering skills to connect it).

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Useless features

Ideal for single station radio.

Very nice compact digital radio. Can be powered by USB cable with USB charger. Has a 3.5mm headphone jack. I put it (along with a small ice cube USB charger) in a wooden jewelry box to build an "always on radio with one station" for my 94 year old mother who has Alzheimer's but enjoys listening to CPR. . (I set her preferences and volume levels, then close the box. She can put on her headphones when she wants to listen to NPR and take them off when she's done.

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Functionality

This is a good version of this radio.

Great little radio, works exactly as described, speaker and headphone outputs work fine, there's even a mono mode. I can say that the version I received is the same as in the listing (there are at least 3 versions of these radios and some other places broadcast a different version than the one pictured). The knobs are set in the correct direction (clockwise = higher). So if you are looking for one of these radios, spend a few bucks more and buy this one, it will save you a lot of frustration…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • No form required

Beautifully built, works right out of the box.

I bought this board to experiment a bit on another project I'm working on. When I opened the box I saw the circuit board which was very carefully crafted and the assembly looks very high quality. I would be interested to know if it works as well as it looks. I first noticed that for some reason the .pdf file on the Revain website wasn't read on my phone I was working on, but luckily you don't really need it. This is for the main connection. It's pretty darn easy to set up and the short version…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Lack of flush mount design. But it sounds good and the price is good.

This small FM board is very cool and expensive. A big problem I have is that the LCD doesn't line up with the tuner and volume controls. You cannot flush mount it. The LCD is set back 3/16" and doesn't look very professional. They have to make a special faceplate with two depths. This is a really bad design flaw. Either the knobs have to be lower or the LCD has to be higher. But overall it is a great little receiver with decent gain It's small enough to be used for many different DIY projects…

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • There are nuances

Lots of DIY potential and great sound!

Great little receiver with huge DIY potential! I used a pair of 2" speakers. I think the unit can do a little more. I'm thinking of building another one with 2 1/2" Dayton speakers. Requires soldering (at least 1 antenna connection) and requires a very small tip for a low wattage iron. If you use the built-in 3 W/ch output, you need to solder 4 more pin headers. Fun little project. The bezel pictured fits between two posts on my monitor stand. The other photo shows a tabletop radio I made with…

Great little FM radio module

I received the Icstation Digital FM Radio Receiver Module and am very happy with its features and performance. It's mostly intuitive, but after reading the manual, which you can view online by scanning the QR code that comes with the device, I found that this module offers some really advanced features. Before reading the manual, I started by connecting the device to a USB power source via the micro USB connector on the module. The display turned on with the FM frequency on the display. The…

Paired with my Icstation FM Transmitter

My receiver receives transmissions from Icstation Digital Audio Transmitter 88-108MHz Stereo DSP PLL Module with LCD Display USB Mic Input located outside next to my bird feeder for birds is located. The only improvement is a piece of wire connected to the antenna hole on the circuit board. I made the front for this with my laser engraver/cutter. I'm not sure why, but sometimes the device starts to get static on the output when another radio nearby has no interference receiving the same…
