Great Meat Gift

I bought it for my husband as a birthday present. I think he will really enjoy it as he loves using his smoker. I love that it has an auto shut off so the batteries don't run out!

Easy to read, fast results

This is a great food thermometer and so easy to use. I really like that it closes so I don't have to worry about hurting my hand reaching for the kitchen drawer to grab it. In addition, the thermometer will automatically turn off when closed, so you don't have to worry about accidentally running out of batteries. It's easy to switch between F and C, and as a bonus, it has a button to light up the screen, which is great because grilling is where we use it most. Definitely recommend.

Very economical instant read thermometer (FAST) cooking thermometer with some downsides to consider.

I use the expensive Instant Read Thermapen for all aspects of food preparation: reheating in the microwave, grilling/grilling, and checking the temperature of food in the freezer and fridge. I was curious how well a very inexpensive version would work. Thermapen (registered trademark) has two states: OFF and ON, no additional buttons or functions.
