These are good for decorative use or adding accent colors for any purpose although the quality is slightly different. They sparkle like glass but definitely feel and look like plastic up close. They are a little darker than I was hoping for. I really like having little colored spots in the house with beads and precious stones in different things like bowls, candles or even vases. I chose them because my dining room is themed around grapes and wine. I thought the colors would go together perfectly and they do. I love the colors but the gems themselves are a little disappointing as they are slightly worn and have tiny scratches etc so not as shiny as they could be. They have a duller finish than I expected.
