I have had several DP KVM and USB switches. My KVM's keyboard USB port is broken so I added a USB switch to make everything work. So I got this device to replace a halfway working KVM + USB switch. There is a switch on the device itself for switching between the two computers. But it also comes with an external switch that can be placed next to the keyboard. I use it with a Microsoft Sculpt keyboard/mouse. Works perfectly!

The product listing says it should be possible to contact the manufacturer for support but I can't find any information on this, not even here on Amazon, nor in the tiny manual that came with the Switch. Update 07/19/21 I've never found an easy solution to my hot-swap problems with Displayport and can run at 30Hz at 4K on my work laptop, so the KVM switch was only added for keyboard and uses mouse. This worked well for the most part for a month, except for the occasional use of just the mouse and not the keyboard. Disconnecting everything and then reconnecting it will fix the first inclusion. Uncomfortable? Yes, but it was all on my desk with just enough cable slack to make it easier. Til…
