The diagnosis was never a pressing issue as it was very incidental and random, but when it did it was annoying. Eventually I found out what it was.

I've had three of these for about 5 months and after the first month I've noticed that a black screen appears randomly for about 1-2 seconds, then back to normal. The diagnosis was never a pressing issue as it was very incidental and random, but when it did it was annoying. Eventually I realized that the problem was with those cables.

Save yourself the hassle. Just spend your money on better cables

These are the worst Displayport cables I have ever seen. I had this cable for about 6 minutes before it got damaged when I plugged it in and then tried to unplug it. I connected a new cable to my monitor. I decided I wanted to move my monitor, so I turned it off before moving the monitor. When I tried to press a button to pull out the DP cable, the entire cable detached in my hand, leaving a metal insert that lodged in a port on my monitor. No, I have not twisted, kinked, or pulled the cable…
