The old one on my 2001 Ram Truck was rusty and it was just what I needed to fix. Those old dealer-only parts are getting harder and harder to find. So I was grateful when I found one here. Delivery took a little longer. But the wait was worth it.

This item, while not Prime, arrived 24 hours after ordering. Detail factory Mopar, like the original. For security reasons, it is worth replacing the lazy one. Will also fit some heavier (2500, 3500) models and years - check Mopar part number elsewhere.

This was an exact replacement for a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 with a double extended cab and diesel engine. I had to cut off the old rusty one. No special tools were required and I was able to just tie the cables together and then adjust them with a 1/2" wrench and clamp the other end in a vise.

I walked over to my pickup truck and noticed something was hanging down. Of course, it was a rusty parking brake tensioner that rotted and immediately fell off. It was still attached to both sides of the parking brake cable. I bought this replacement and it took me about 20 minutes to remove the old tensioner (have to use a dremel to cut off the rusty part) and replace it with a new one. Perfect replacement. My original rear tensioner was lazy and only held 2% when used on the rear brakes. So if I pedaled the E-Brake it would bottom, and if I put the truck in Drive with the pedal depressed, the truck would roll a way. With this new item I can put the truck in drive and press the brake pedal and the truck won't even roll up a hill so it works but if that part is fishy I would check the rest of your brake cables as well.
