🐶 Dogloo XT Petmate Door Review

Ten years ago I bought a Dogloo at my local Walmart. At the time it was called the large size and had a 'big' valve. This dog is gone and last year we adopted a rescue dog. When I bought the so called large valve from another seller it turned out to be too small. The large one is now called X-Large and it fits perfectly. This valve is 19". high.

I bought the large door first because it is 19.8 x 15.8. It was much smaller and didn't fit my dogle. I was able to return it without any problems but had to pay for shipping. Then I bought an XL door that says it's 34 x 21. From my measurements it is 19 inches long and approximately 18.5 inches at the base. It was the right size for my doglu. I wish I could just exchange instead of paying to return the first one.

I ordered this kennel door to fit a very large Indigo kennel. I installed the kennel door according to the instructions. The door is missing 1 x 1 and 1/2 inch to be wide enough. It has a gap from the top right corner almost to the bottom. I also had trouble with the mounting screws. This is a very tight place to install the faucet and screw the faucet onto the screw. Could this door have been mislabeled at the size shown? Maybe it's big, not very big.

Well I'm an idiot and didn't buy the right size so there is a small gap between this part and the kennel. However, buying the right size will make a big difference for your pet. It's a heavy/thick plastic that blocks the wind but is light enough for my cat to get in and out of the door. If you're buying an expensive kennel, you're buying a door that should match it anyway. Don't be cheap as a manufacturer. We also have an auxiliary heater to keep our animals warm and cozy on cold days.
