Great replacement but without mounting hardware.

The replacement foot is great, but be prepared to provide your own mounting hardware. Atwood/Dometic may assist customers by including a spare long rivet or machine screw and locknut.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Nothing here

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mounting holes are larger than OEM.

The old one was riveted for attachment. This one has large holes and the arm needs more drilling to match the holes in the leg. And you must use a screw. No rivet or screw is included. Just one foot. Otherwise it is definitely OEM. Except for the size of the mounting hole.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Update available

Excellent replacement part

Works great. Super easy exchange. It would be nice if the kit included a rivet for attachment, but that's ok. I only have a 1/4" bolt and lock nut that will do the trick. My RV is old so it doesn't need to be perfect and beautiful. If you want it to be perfect and beautiful be sure to order a mounting rivet to match. Good ones processing and quality.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Almost never

Lesson Learned at RV Parts & Accessories

Some days it's just as good to be stupid as all day. When trying to get my 40ft RV through the tollbooth, I ended up too close to the security post set up to stop idiots like me from vandalizing their tiny home away from home. Anyway, the post office decided to teach me a lesson by destroying the bottom bracket that attaches my awning brace to the car. This replacement worked perfectly. I had to paint it black, but what the heck?

Pros
  • That's Amazing
Cons
  • So So

The leg is better than the original with a little modification

This is a strong awning leg, much stronger than the original because it has a stainless steel pin instead of the metal pot like the original. Now if you're buying this as a replacement for the 8100 series, beware! The rivet holes must not match the awning bracket. That's not a defect, this foot isn't designed for this hand, but it's better than the old one. Simply drill new holes in the awning bracket, attach with a new rivet or long bolt and nut. Next time my tent is taken down there will be a
