The engine works great. Suitable for a shaky purchase IT WORKS!

Dislike: Not an exact cosmetic match BUT when the local dealer had the $300.00 Cosmo I said no. This engine fits and runs well! Even with a little retightening of the bolts and realigning the bolts (removed to allow for flex), I replaced the entire SOLO awning motor in 2.5 hours on my LilGiant ladder! Drill me pop rivet and you're done!

Pros
  • Still happy
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Great instructions makes it worth it

I was nervous about doing it myself but didn't want to pay the dealer or wait all summer to get my camper back. Even after getting the motor I was reluctant to do so. Just managed to replace in an hour or two on my own this afternoon. The instructions provided are very detailed and also cover other typical awning repairs. Yes, it's expensive, but worth it when it's done.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Tape

Expensive but necessary spare part.

The question is not whether it will fail, but when. This is the third engine change I've had to do on the tent. The first 2 were covered under warranty, this one cost me out of pocket. Dometic has a design flaw with these motors, but there's really no alternative but to buy a new one about every 2 years. Update: This last motor failed after 6 weeks. I have 1 weekend and the next time I used the camper the motor stalled. Very unhappy.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Upgradable

Be methodical when installing

I followed each step of the installation very carefully. I found the Dometic installation guide online and downloaded it. Installing the pin on the roller tube spring. (right side) is critical. I used a small screwdriver for the stylus as no stylus was included. rivet drilling. Uninstalled and reinstalled the new wnet engine with no problems. Less than an hour passes slowly. To remove the pin at the end, the roller tube must be rotated slightly to release tension. Revain was the best price I…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Difficult review to write.

Seller knowledge of spare parts - 1 star. they are ignorant. The part they sent solved my problem 100% (5 stars), but only a solution for VERY skillful people. We're in a total AWNING OUT situation, no youtube videos on the subject lol. I ordered from a seller based on a Dometic ice rink. While waiting for the motor, I was digging around and wondering why there are so many different part numbers for rollaway motor and got nervous. Dometic and the seller finally said your MOTOR wouldn't work and

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Working speed
