Good oil pan best in spare parts

Good quality. Perfect fit for my F350 7.3L 2000. I applied an extra coat of paint on the outside to prevent rust. Be sure to use Ford factory sealant.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Heavy, well-made oil pan!

This oil pan is very heavy and strong. Exact match to the original. Difficult to put on, but that's not Dorman's fault. This is the design of my Ford F-350.

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons

rubbish, useless. Almost ruined my engine.

This oil pan gave me a lot of headaches and a nearly $10,000 engine that was rebuilt a few months ago! First of all, the quality is in your hands. There is a big difference between Dorman and OEM. You can feel how cheap this pan is. The bolt holes did NOT match. twisted 2 screws at the end. I had to drill holes in the timing case cover because the holes were almost 1/4" off-center. Funny. To top it all off, the oil pan is way too short! This oil pan gave me low/zero oil pressure. I had a quick…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

You can change the direction of the dipstick on the oil pan.

The direction of the dipstick tube can be changed by loosening the nut on the oil pan and sliding the dipstick tube plug. There is a huge o-ring inside for sealing purposes which should have no effect as it will leak as you turn.

Pros
  • Direct Replacement - This engine oil pan fits the original pan on certain vehicles
Cons
  • Compatibility

This is a huge task with many other points.

This is tremendous work as there are many other parts that need to be replaced while the engine is not running. Be sure to use genuine Ford sealant. unless you want to do it twice. Before installation, the very first thing to check is the alignment angle of the dipstick tube flange in the oil pan. It has 2 positions. 12 hours or about 2 hours. The pan comes at the 12 o'clock position. this is incorrect for 2001 and newer models. It should be at the 2 o'clock position when the oil dipstick tube…
