Dorman 55199 Handled Universal Control Review

Don't waste your time or money on this item, very poor quality, can't be used 15 feet away, the outer case stretches so much that it takes 4 inches to move to force the other end to move.

Product screwed up Locking cable Inbox labeled for pen cable #55199 I have part #55204 in the box not once but twice I need the right one for my application!

Poorly made, body pressed against steel tube, fell off before installation. I have to weld it together before I can use it. Pay more and get what works

Product broke right after installation. My fault is that I missed the return window so there are no returns. It's up to me Ordered the same part from another manufacturer, works great.

This cable fits perfectly and works very well. I used it to control a hydraulic switch on a dump truck. The cable slides easily into the housing. I was concerned because I had to make some pretty tight turns, but it still worked pretty smoothly.

Not very well. At 15 feet the outer casing is not rigid enough to prevent bending rendering the inner wire unusable. Maybe work on shorter lengths. like under five feet with no sharp turns. If you want control at 15 feet, buy a cable with a very hard outer shell, not this one.

These are poorly made universal cables. I bought 2 of these cables and after straightening them out I decided to do a push pull test to see how they perform. They didn't stretch smoothly, and when I squeezed, one of the cable sleeves popped out of the crimped sleeve (see photo). Do yourself a favor and stay away from those Dorman cables. I returned them both.
