Dorman 600 202 4 Wheel Drive Actuator Review

Restoring my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. I was having problems with my 4WD. I bought this product and now I can go anywhere. I can't wait for heavy snow to fall in winter so I can actually test it.

I bought one elsewhere (starts with R and ends with auto) with the same part number but a different manufacturer. It didn't fit at all. The drive does not fit in the case. I sent it back and bought this one. Fits perfectly with the original body and axle. I hope it lasts as long as the crispy old one.

I had to wait to install this on my truck as the return time had expired. When I installed it I found that the driveshaft was bent, not enough to notice but enough not to make it work. I wanted to spend the extra money to get a quality part but found that you don't always get what you pay for. I'm not saying it's a low quality item, but I'm saying you should check it out as soon as it arrives.

Good set and reasonable price. Bought it for my '91 Jeep Wrangler. The problem is that it is larger than 0.0020 and needs to be matched to the case. It took an extra hour to work like the old one. There's no reason to be intolerant of today's hardware. With an O-ring on the shaft, this tight fit is not required. Just bad quality control. Worth the price, just note that customization is required

The front axle on my 4x4 was getting stiff on clutch in and out and was running on vacuum, so I know the diaphragm was getting stiff. I have a 1997 truck. I started shopping and found that all my local parts dealers had this Dorman part number for my truck at a much higher price, so I took the part number to Revain and found the same part for about that half their price.
